Pupils are entered for ISTD examinations in Ballet, Tap and Modern, LCM Musical Theatre examinations and RSM Classical examinations in Singing.

Ballet
The standard required is high, children are expected to show knowledge of the syllabus, controlled technique and quality of movement As a guide it takes approximately 12 to 18 months to move from one exam to the next in the lower grades, extending to 18 months to 2 years in the middle and higher grades. Children receive a report and successful candidates are awarded a certificate. They can then move to the next grade.
Tap and Modern
Pupils have to be well prepared with solid technique and performance skills. Successful candidates receive a report and certificate.
If a pupil is entered for an exam, we expect them to attend every lesson. Pupils will be entered when the teacher considers that they are ready for examination.

London College of Music Examinations in Singing – Musical Theatre
The candidate should present their material with audibility, clarity of diction, fluency, projection, good intonation, a sense of spontaneity, character portrayal, movement and gesture, facial expression and variety of vocal timbre.
Candidates should demonstrate evidence of personal and imaginative interpretation, effective communication and use of body and space through vocal and dramatic techniques. Examiners look for an enthusiasm for Musical Theatre.
Successful candidates receive a report and certificate.
Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Examinations in Singing
These exams are suitable for pupils with a high level of musical knowledge and an interest in classical singing. They include aural perception, sight-reading and unaccompanied singing in addition to a selection of songs.

Please note: ABRSM exams are prepared for in private singing classes.
